Youth Ministry

At Grace we value our young people who are growing in their faith as they move toward adulthood. The church commits time and resources to provide opportunities for our youth to grow spiritually and emotionally. This is not a one way street. Our youth are a vital part of our ministry and share their gifts and talents to enhance our services and service to our members and the greater community.

Worship

At Grace we seek to involve our youth in all aspects of our worship experience. The youth of Grace participate in such activities as readers of the lessons, usher, singing in choir (or as individuals or small groups), play musical instruments and in many other ways based on their talents.

Bible Camp

All 6th graders at Grace have the opportunity to attend bible camp at Camp Emmaus which is part of the Pathways Bible Camp organization and Grace Lutheran pays for that week of fun, fellowship, and learning about our faith. But youth can attend at any age through their High School years. For youth who are not in 6th grade, we do have scholarship money available to assist in paying for your week of camp. Just contact Brenda at church for more information about camp and scholarships. Also, for more information on Pathways bible camps you can visit their website at www.pathwaysbiblecamps.com.

Junior High Opportunities

During the Summer and throughout the school year we have many opportunities for fellowship and learning for our Junior High age youth. Here are some of those opportunities:

Confirmation

Students meet regularly during the school year on Wednesdays while they are in 7th & 8th grade. Our confirmation curriculum is "HereWeStand."  Our hope is not only to give the youth an opportunity to learn about the faith, but to also give them opportunities to take that knowledge to heart and live it out in their daily lives.  Classes are held Wednesdays, September to May, for grades 7 and 8 with the Affirmation of Baptism service held in October of the students 9th grade year on Reformation Sunday

Other Activities

Throughout the year there are also fundraisers, weekend youth gatherings, special activities, confirmation retreat and other ways our 7th and 8th grade youth can be involved in the life of the church. Please visit the Youth Website for upcoming events!

Senior High Opportunities

SUnday School

Senior High meets each Sunday throughout the school year from 10:00-11:00 a.m. for fellowship, activities, and Bible study.

Mission Trips and Service Projects

We are on a 3 year rotation of offering great ministry opportunities through mission trips and national youth gathering. Every 3 years the ELCA has its National Youth Gathering where churches from all across the country gather in a selected city for a week of great speakers, awesome music, and meaningful service work. On the years in between when we are not going to the National Youth Gathering, we will be going on week long mission trips during the summer. These weeks are great for strengthening faith through service – and we have a lot of fun in the process. Whether it is a National Youth Gathering, or a Youthworks Mission Trip - they are awesome experiences. Make sure to keep an eye out in the fall of each year to find out where we are going that next summer.
